Backgrounds...

Before any photo session I take my little model with me to not only scope out the location but to also get a feel for the lighting.  I usually do this the week in advance prior to the session.  This may seem silly and a waist of time for some, but it helps me to mentally prepare for the session.  I try out several backgrounds to get a feel for which one might work the best.

 I was desperate for something to entertain my little guy because he's been so bored out of his mind lately with just me hanging around.  He had all last week to play with his boy cousins ages 9,6, and 3.  It was such a fun trip filled with bugs, worms, tadpoles, airplane rides, motorbikes, fireworks, and fishing. For the first time ever after we came home he cried in his room for half an hour. Not just cried but sobbed. He had the week of his life. So now you can see why I'm desperate to try to try to find fun things to get his mind off of not being in Idaho with family.These disguises distracted him for a moment which made me so happy and I am forever grateful for coming across the idea on the internet! He thought they were so funny and he thought I was pretty cool too. Spring Photo Shoot

 About a month ago after T-Ball practice I took some pictures of my little guy.  I still can't believe he is even old enough to play! He is such a little character and is always ham'n it up for the camera! I don't know if it's just that the grass if finally green or the contrast with his red outfit but I am loving the bright colors.  Not something I typically lean towards while editing my photos but I fell in love none the less!

I just love him so much!

Heaven Sent

Seriously is there anything cuter than a sleeping baby? I was blessed to be able to take pictures of sweet little Miss "E".  I personnally believe that all babies are miracles but this little one truly is. These are just a few of my favorite...

Just for fun

Here are some macro pics I was working on the other day.  My little guy was hovering over me as I was shooting these.  He kept asking, "Now can I have them?" Poor kid, to him it was pure torture that they were just sitting there and not being eaten.  He did get to munch on the pez when I was finished.  After all I did swipe them from his Easter basket. Here are just a few of my favorites.

28 is great!

I am so excited that my photo was featured on one of the many photography websites that I follow. To check it out and all of the other entries go here to The Pioneer Woman photography.  Even though I may not win the overall contest I was just flattered that my photo out of thousands of other entries was featured. To top it all off today is my birthday and so far being 28 is great!

As I create an image I like to think of the title while I'm working. I kept thinking of the phrase, "The day is done," and it reminded me of a lullaby that I purchased for my three year old not too long ago on itunes. I felt that the words of the song went so well with this image.

In time of Need

I think we all go through times of adversity in our lives. Times when we feel like we just will not be able to weather the storm. I created this image as a reminder that no matter the circumstance I might find myself in, there is always someone watching over me to help me in my time of need.
